Server Rules & Expectations

Welcome to Zodiac RP.

Zodiac RP is a semi-serious FiveM roleplay community built around immersive scenes, character development, fair gameplay, and respect for everyone involved.

By joining Zodiac RP, you agree to follow these rules at all times. Claiming that you did not know a rule is not an excuse for breaking it.

📋 General Server Rules

1. Clipping software is required.
Any clip submitted as evidence must be at least 2 minutes long and include game audio.

2. Streaming is encouraged, but not required.

Do not DM staff members for support.
Use the official Zodiac RP ticket system for questions, reports, appeals, or other issues.

3. RDM and VDM are strictly prohibited.

Green Zones must be respected at all times.

Players are responsible for staying updated with server announcements, rule changes, and policy updates.

4. Cheating is strictly prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Aimbots
  • Soft aim
  • Unauthorized crosshairs
  • Prop exploits
  • Mod menus
  • Injectors
  • Third-party software that provides an unfair advantage

5. A working microphone and headset are required.

Avoid excessive background noise during active scenes.

6. Metagaming and powergaming are prohibited.

Harassment, discrimination, or targeted disrespect toward other members of the community will not be tolerated.

7. Combat logging is prohibited.
You may not disconnect to avoid an active scene, arrest, robbery, death consequence, or other RP situation.

Roleplay should remain natural, believable, and immersive.

Players must realistically react to law enforcement presence and dangerous situations.

8. Voice alone cannot be used to identify another character. Identification should be supported by factors such as:

  • Clothing
  • Vehicle
  • License plate
  • ID
  • Gang affiliation
  • Physical appearance
  • Other information learned through RP

8. Zodiac RP operates under Fear RP / Value of Life rules. Your character must value their life when placed in serious danger.

9. Derogatory, hateful, discriminatory, or targeted slurs are prohibited.

10. Suicide RP, rape RP, and sexual harassment RP are strictly prohibited. Severe violations may result in permanent removal from the community.

11. Toxic RP is prohibited. This includes actions such as:

  • Spitting on downed players
  • Urinating or defecating on players
  • Excessive taunting over bodies
  • Intentionally humiliating players instead of continuing meaningful RP

12. Do not approach staff members in-city regarding OOC problems. Finish the scene and use the ticket system afterward.

13. You may not force another player to:

  • Empty their bank account
  • Give access to their house
  • Give access to their apartment
  • Transfer ownership of property through forced RP

🎭 Semi-Serious Roleplay Expectations

Zodiac RP is a semi-serious roleplay server.

Certain systems such as the economy, vehicles, weapons, and progression may be more relaxed than a hardcore realism server.

However, once you enter an active roleplay scenario, especially involving:

• Police
• EMS
• Gangs
• Hostages
• Robberies
• Shootouts
• Serious criminal activity

You are expected to maintain a serious standard of roleplay.

Act as your character reasonably would in a real situation.

Your decisions should reflect:

• Fear
• Injuries
• Consequences
• Character personality
• Information your character actually knows

Winning should never be more important than creating good RP.

🧑 Character Identity & Pronouns

Players should respect the identity and pronouns established for another character.

Character information should be learned naturally through roleplay rather than assumed from voice alone.

Do not intentionally use another player's identity, gender, or pronouns as a way to harass or provoke them.

⚔️ Interaction & Scene Escalation

Roleplay should escalate naturally rather than immediately turning into violence.

1️⃣ First Interaction — Verbal

Scenes should begin with dialogue whenever reasonably possible.

During the initial interaction:

• Communicate with the other party.
• Explain demands, problems, or intentions through RP.
• Do not immediately pull weapons simply to force an outcome.
• Allow the other party an opportunity to respond.

A meaningful verbal interaction should occur before escalating.

2️⃣ Second Interaction — Physical Altercation

If the verbal situation continues to escalate, players may move into hand-to-hand combat when appropriate.

During this stage:

• Fist fighting is permitted.
• Weapons should not automatically be introduced.
• The scene should continue naturally based on what has occurred.

3️⃣ Third Interaction — Firearms

Firearms should be considered a serious escalation.

Gunfire must be:

• Justified by the scene
• Supported by prior interaction
• Realistically escalated
• Appropriate to the threat presented

A minimum of 2 minutes of meaningful dialogue/RP should normally occur before intentionally escalating a confrontation into gunfire.

You may not shoot from a bulletproof or armored vehicle in a way that creates an unrealistic advantage.

Injuries and consequences resulting from gunfire should be roleplayed realistically.

🤝 Community Conduct & Terms of Service

All members of Zodiac RP — including players, streamers, staff, faction members, and community leaders — are expected to treat others appropriately.

The following behavior is prohibited:

1. Harassment or repeated unwanted behavior.

2. Serious threats toward another member.

3. Sharing another person's private or identifying information without consent.

4. Impersonating staff or claiming authority you do not have.

5. Attempting to exploit, manipulate, scam, or intimidate another community member OOC.

6. Toxic actions intended only to humiliate another player.

7. Sexually explicit or pornographic content.

8. Discrimination or harassment based on:

• Race
• Ethnicity
• Religion
• Gender
• Gender identity
• Sexual orientation
• Age
• Disability
• Medical condition
• Veteran status
• Physical characteristics

Violations may result in a warning, communication restriction, suspension, or permanent ban, depending on severity and intent.

🧠 Metagaming

Metagaming is using information your character did not learn through in-character roleplay.

Information obtained outside the city may not be used to benefit your character.

Examples include information obtained through:

• Discord calls
• Discord messages
• Twitch streams
• Kick streams
• YouTube
• TikTok
• Screenshares
• Another player's stream
• OOC conversations

Your character may only act on information they have reasonably learned in character.

🎙️ Going Out of Character — OOC

Once you enter the server, you are considered in character unless staff specifically places you into an administrative situation.

Do not break character during active scenes.

If another player breaks a rule:

Finish the RP first and report it afterward.

Do not:

• Argue about rules during a scene
• Threaten another player with a report
• Say you are calling staff
• Stop roleplay because you believe someone broke a rule
• Introduce unrelated OOC information into RP

Use the ticket system after the scene concludes.

🚫 Breaking Character

Breaking character damages immersion and may result in disciplinary action.

Examples include:

• Talking about Discord during an active RP scene
• Saying someone is being reported
• Discussing staff punishments
• Talking about server mechanics as an excuse to stop RP
• Using information your character could not realistically know

Keep IC issues IC and OOC issues OOC.

💪 Powergaming

Powergaming is using unrealistic actions, mechanics, or advantages to control the outcome of a scene instead of allowing fair roleplay.

Examples include:

1. Forcing an unrealistic outcome onto another player.

2. Conducting illegal activity or criminal sales inside Green Zones.

3. Using interiors solely to escape active RP or police.

4. Disposing of bodies in water solely to prevent investigation or consequences.

5. Camping garages to ambush players as soon as they retrieve or store a vehicle.

6. Abusing animations, mechanics, or game limitations to gain an advantage.

Garage Vehicle Rule

If a vehicle is left unattended at a garage and the owner is not visibly nearby, the vehicle may be stolen unless another server rule prevents it.

🚗 Vehicle Deathmatch — VDM

VDM is intentionally using a vehicle as a weapon against another player or deliberately ramming vehicles without valid roleplay justification.

Examples include:

• Intentionally running someone over
• Repeatedly ramming another vehicle
• Using a vehicle to avoid participating fairly in combat

If someone stands in front of your vehicle while aiming a firearm through your windshield, you may not intentionally drive through them.

Doing so is still considered VDM / FailRP.

You should exit the vehicle before intentionally engaging in a combat scene.

🔫 Random Deathmatch — RDM

RDM is attacking or killing another player without sufficient roleplay interaction, initiation, or justification.

You may not:

• Shoot someone for no established RP reason
• Attack random players
• Use minor disagreements as immediate justification for lethal force
• Kill someone simply because they belong to another gang

There must be meaningful roleplay behind serious violence.

😨 Fear RP / Value of Life

Players must value their character's life.

If you are placed at a clear disadvantage and have no reasonable method of defending yourself, you are expected to comply.

Examples:

• If a firearm is already aimed at you and you do not have your weapon drawn, you should fear for your life.
• You cannot unrealistically pull a weapon while someone already has you at gunpoint.
• Your character should react appropriately to serious threats.

You must have a weapon actively drawn and available to realistically fight back with it.

Failure to properly value your life may result in FailRP.

🚑 EMS & Police Scenes

The following rules apply during EMS and Police interactions:

1. EMS may not be held at gunpoint simply to prevent them from providing treatment.

2. EMS should not enter an active combat scene until it has been cleared.

3. Players may not steal:

• PD weapons
• Tasers
• Police vehicles
• EMS vehicles
• Restricted PD/EMS equipment

4. Do not search PD or EMS vehicles without legitimate RP authorization.

5. Police baiting is prohibited.

Do not intentionally commit meaningless crimes in front of police solely to force them into interaction.

6. Players revived by EMS during a police scene may not immediately flee.

7. If downed while incarcerated, prisoners should receive treatment through the appropriate prison/infirmary RP.

8. If you are downed during a shootout, you may not rejoin that same shootout.

This applies to both civilians and law enforcement.

9. Do not intentionally disconnect during an active police scene.

🧍 Hostage Roleplay

Hostage situations must be treated seriously.

1. Hostages must value their lives.

2. A hostage must have an available seat inside the vehicle being used to transport them.

3. If you want to prevent a hostage from communicating, you must remove their:

• Phone
• Radio

4. At least 3 officers must be on duty before a police officer may be kidnapped.

5. EMS personnel may only be taken hostage while off duty.

6. If your vehicle is already running and someone approaches with a weapon drawn, you may attempt to drive away if realistically possible.

You still may not intentionally run them over.

7. Ransom demands are permitted.

If the ransom is paid, the hostage must be released alive.

If the ransom is refused, the scene may continue naturally through RP.

🛠️ Exploiting

Exploiting means using server mechanics, animations, bugs, or unintended game behavior to gain an unfair advantage.

Examples include:

• Spam punching
• Animation cancelling
• Abusing /e commands
• Bypassing cooldowns
• Glitching through objects
• Duplication exploits
• Exploiting vehicle mechanics
• Abusing bugs for financial gain

If you discover an exploit, report it to staff instead of using it.

Exploiting may result in severe disciplinary action.

🟢 Green Zones

Green Zones are designated safe areas where criminal activity, intimidation, robbery, kidnapping, or unnecessary violence is prohibited.

Zodiac RP Green Zones include:

• Hospitals
• Courthouses
• Player-owned businesses
• Dealerships
• Public garages
• Clothing stores while inside
• Movie theaters
• Bowling alleys
• Golf courses
• Skating rinks
• Official server-hosted events unless staff specifically states otherwise

Do not use a Green Zone to intentionally escape an active RP scene that began outside of it.

💰 Robbery Rules

1. Players must have at least 2 minutes of meaningful in-character interaction before attempting to rob another player.

2. If you are being held at gunpoint and told to put your hands up, you must comply unless you already have a realistic means of defending yourself.

3. Robberies are prohibited inside Green Zones.

4. You may not kill someone simply because you finished robbing them.

Robbery scenes are intended to create RP, not executions.

5. There is a 30-minute real-life cooldown before the same person may be robbed again.

6. Attempting to rob or kidnap another player does not automatically give either party unlimited initiation rights.

7. Revenge or continued conflict must stem naturally from the original RP.

8. You may not rob:

• Unconscious players
• Downed players
• Dead bodies

9. Backpacks may not be robbed.

Police officers are excluded from this restriction where applicable to legitimate police RP.

🔫 Weapon Restrictions

Semi-Automatic Days

Wednesday

Saturday

Fully automatic weapons may not be used or brandished during restricted periods unless specifically permitted by server rules or staff.

Unauthorized use may result in:

💰 $100,000 in-game fine

If the player cannot pay:

⏱️ 1 hour in Comms

Additional punishment may apply for repeated violations.

⚖️ Staff Decisions & Enforcement

All players are expected to:

• Follow server rules
• Respect staff
• Respect other community members
• Maintain immersion
• Contribute positively to roleplay
• Allow scenes to develop naturally

Punishments may include:

• Verbal warning
• Written warning
• Communication restriction
• In-game fine
• Comms
• Temporary suspension
• Permanent ban

Punishments are determined based on the severity, intent, history, and circumstances of the violation.

Do not argue punishments inside the city.

Ban appeals must be submitted through the official Zodiac RP ban appeal process.
